My research interests are in the areas of neuro-gastroenterology. I utilize a pathway based approach to gain a better understanding of the basic mechanisms underlying gut-brain axis connection in Neurodegenerative diseases and Neuro-oncology using research tools such as high throughput genomic/proteomic analyses, CRISPR/CAS 9 genome editing, live imaging, fluorescence western blotting, ELISA, RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry analysis to unravel the molecular pathway involved in gastrointestinal inflammation induced neurodegenerative disease so as to feed basic research results back to the society in a bench to bedside approach.
