Ces architectures sont par ailleurs adapt\u00e9es aux fonctions vitales des colonies, comme la protection contre les pr\u00e9dateurs et certaines d\u2019entre elles permettent \u00e9galement la r\u00e9gulation thermique et l\u2019optimisation des \u00e9changes gazeux. Comment des milliers d\u2019individus, parviennent-ils \u00e0 coordonner leurs actions pour \u00e9difier des structures aussi sophistiqu\u00e9es ?
