Cette d\u00e9couverte majeure a ouvert de nouvelles pistes th\u00e9rapeutiques dans la prise en charge des troubles de l\u2019humeur, notamment chez des patients r\u00e9sistants aux antid\u00e9presseurs. Cependant, le mode d\u2019action mol\u00e9culaire de la k\u00e9tamine reste encore mal connu. Dans une nouvelle \u00e9tude, pilot\u00e9e par Julien Dupuis et Laurent Groc (IINS, Bordeaux) et regroupant des partenaires du CHU de Bordeaux, CHU de Lyon, et INSERM, il apparait que la k\u00e9tamine, au-del\u00e0 de son effet antagoniste sur le r\u00e9cepteur glutamatergique NMDA, favorise l\u2019ancrage de ce r\u00e9cepteur aux synapses excitatrices. Cette propri\u00e9t\u00e9 inattendue de stabilisation du r\u00e9cepteur NMDA permet de contrer l\u2019action d\u00e9l\u00e9t\u00e8re d\u2019auto-anticorps dirig\u00e9s contre ce r\u00e9cepteur qui causent l\u2019apparition de troubles psychiatriques et neurologiques s\u00e9v\u00e8res. La k\u00e9tamine, contrairement \u00e0 d\u2019autres antagonistes du r\u00e9cepteur, est un stabilisateur synaptique puissant du r\u00e9cepteur NMDA.
