Programme :
The course is offered to master and PhD students as well as young researcher willing to improve their background in the field of electrophysiology with emphasis on acquisition and analysis of electrophysiological signals. The course consists of a series of lectures completed with tutorial and hands-on sessions. A total of 20 trainees will be accepted. The school is free of charge.
The lectures cover the following areas:

• Patch clamp amplifier, Jane Hinton (MDS-Analytical Technologies UK)
• Sharp electrode recording, Hans Reiner Polder (NPI Electronic, Germany)
• Amperometry, Hans Reiner Polder (NPI Electronic, Germany)
• Introduction du pClamp, Jane Hinton (MDS-Analytical Technologies UK)
• MultiElectrode Array, Multi-channel Systems (Germany)
• Patch clamp in retina, Michel Roux (Strasbourg)
• Ion-sensitive electrodes, Jean-Luc Rodeau (Strasbourg)
• Ground and Filter, Fabrice Dubois (DIPSI, France)
• Patch clamp on cardiac cell, Christophe Pignier (Pierre Fabre Medicament, France)
• EEG and MEG, Antoine Chaanine/Laurent Soufflet (FORNAP Pharma, France)
The tutorial and practical sessions proposed are:
• pClamp tutorial: analysis, MDS-Analytical Technologies, USA
• In vivo juxta- and intracellular recording
• In vivo sharp electrode recording
• Synaptic currents recording in culture and in slice
• Blind patch clamp and neuronal firing
• Paired-patch recording
• MultiElectrode Array
• Electroporation and single cell recording
